On November 9th and 10th, 2024, Team IZZA delivered a historic performance, dominating the mats at two prestigious tournaments: the ASJJF Malaysia Open and the ADCC Malaysia Nationals.
Over one action-packed weekend, our athletes showcased their unmatched talent, bringing home an incredible 9 Gold Medals from ASJJF and 4 Gold Medals from ADCC. These victories not only demonstrate the skill and dedication of Team IZZA but also solidify our standing as one of Malaysia’s top-ranked teams.
A Weekend of Triumphs
The ASJJF tournament saw Team IZZA rise to the challenge, finishing as the 3rd place team overall, a remarkable accomplishment out of more than 20 competing teams. The momentum continued at the ADCC Malaysia Nationals, where our team delivered stellar performances, earning praise from spectators and competitors alike.
Coaches Lead the Charge
This weekend marked a rare occasion where all of Team IZZA’s coaches competed – and they stole the show!
- Coach Doty, Coach Zubair, and Brother Fawad all returned to competition and secured Gold Medals in their respective divisions. Their performances were a powerful reminder of why they’re at the helm of our team.
- Coach Steve dominated his division, winning Double Gold in both his category and the Open Weight division, showcasing his versatility and technical brilliance.
The Rise of a Star: Hamza Hajjo
One of the weekend’s most exciting stories was the incredible display from Hamza Hajjo, an up-and-coming phenom in the world of BJJ. Hamza secured Triple Gold across both tournaments, leaving no doubt that he’s a rising star to watch. His composure and execution on the mats earned admiration from both teammates and competitors alike.

The energy and support from the IZZA community were nothing short of inspiring. From the sidelines to the podium, the unity and encouragement of our supporters stood out, earning praise from spectators and competitors alike.
